What’s been happening:

I am a mother of two children. Christian Banda age 17 and Jean Banda age 15. I am a Hospitalist at Mercy Medical Center since 1994 till current. Fellow of American College of Physician 1998. Fellow of Hospital Medicine 2009. Recipient of several awards including, Catholic woman of the year, Ywca women of achievement, Doctor Mary Banda day in Springfield, Massachusetts. I am President and founder of Jambo Tanzania since 1998, Jambo Tanzania is a non profit organization dedicated to education and healthcare for the people of Gera Village, Bukoba, Tanzania. We have built an elementary school and a health center with plans to provide on going assistance. Since 2000, several members of our group have provided free health care to the village of Gera for two weeks at a time and have seen up to two thousand patients each visit. In 2008 our group was acknowledged by the Tanzanian Parliament for our humanitarian work. Visit our website at www.JamboTanzania.org.
